Hamilton County's Fall Foliage season starts mid-September and extends into the 1st two weeks of October. The exact date of the "Peak Foliage" is difficult to predict, varies every season and depends on the weather patterns, soil conditions and the health of the surrounding forests. Many people consider the mid to late October the most beautiful time of the fall, after most of the brilliant colors have passed. The hills take on a subtler and richer range of hues that are more beautiful to some, if not spectacular.
This time of year is a busy time in the mountains as the colors unfold themselves on their own time schedule. You must make reservations early as properties fill up quickly on the weekends.
