info@adirondackexperience.com

The 2018 season was marked by historic low water. If conditions continue, please take care and watch for rocks, especially if you are launching a prop boat.

Getting there

From the intersection of NYS Route 30 & 28 in the Hamlet of Long Lake, take Route 30/28N south toward Blue Mountain Lake for about 3 miles. Turn right onto North Point Drive (County Route 3). Note: at this turn you will see a sign marked: "To Buttermilk Falls." Follow County Route 3 for 2.9 miles and then bear right onto Forked Lake Campsite Lane (County Route 20). Continue another 1.8 miles to the end.

There is parking for 40 cars with trailers, and DEC canoe and boat rentals.

Launching

Within the Forked Lake State Campground and Day Use Area you will find the Forked Lake Boat Launch. This beach launch sits on the eastern shore of Forked Lake and provides launching for canoes, kayaks, row boats, and motor boats. The launch area is gravel based and recommended for smaller motor boats only. The hard surface launch is recommended for larger boats, and can be found at the western shore of Forked Lake.

The Forked Lake DEC Beach Launch is accessible until the first snowfall. During season a day use fee is required.
