Pine Orchard
GPS Coordinates: ( 43.412280492219, -74.22479152679 )WellsThis relatively easy walk passes through several fields, a wetland/marsh area and mixed hardwoods, ending beneath stands of mature spruce interspersed with renowned old growth White Pines. The trail is an approximately 3 miles round trip. A variety of bird species may be seen along the hike, including many Woodland Warblers. Hermit and Wood Thrushes, Ovenbirds, White-throated Sparrows and Red-eyed Vireos. Note: This trip begins with a short walk over private property. You will walk in front of a camp on a dirt road, so please be respectful of this landowner.
Directions
Turn left (northeast) onto Griffin Road, just south of the Lake Algonquin bridge on Route 30. Drive for 0.8 mile, make a right onto Windfall Road. Travel 1 mile and turn right onto Dorr Road, follow to the end. (Dorr Road turns into Flater Road.)
