Fawn Lake
GPS Coordinates: ( 43.48868862582, -74.45468473408 )Lake PleasantFawn Lake is as popular for its sandy beach and easily accessed backcountry campsites as it is for fishing. Wild brook trout can be caught from shore in the spring near deep water areas. Small mouth bass and pickerel are also found here in lesser numbers. Ice fishing is allowed, but tip-ups are prohibited.
Directions
Access is from a DEC Trailhead at the end of Fish Mtn. Road. From Speculator, drive 4.0 miles, and just past the Lake Pleasant Golf Course, (not Golf Course Road) take a R onto Fish Mtn Road. Follow the road after it veers left. Take the second right, (past Overlook Drive) and follow Fish Mtn Road to the end, where you'll find the DEC register on the left. The trail will take you to Fawn Lake.
