This hike is not accessable to the public, due to a conflict between the DEC and the owners of the land. There is currently a bill in the NYS Assembly A11307 (stalled in Assemblyman's Sweeney from Long Island's Conservation Committee) that will allow a public easement to the mountain top and firetower. However presently, the trail to the mountain top and adjacient lands are closed to public access. When the status of the mountain changes, we will let you know here.
