Poplar Point is no longer a paid campsite, but it remains open for day-use and no-cost boat launching.
From the intersection of Route 8 and 30 in Speculator, drive west on Route 8 for 8.8 miles. Take a right onto Old Piseco Road (Casey's Corner's Convenience Store & Gas on corner) and drive for 3.9 miles to reach Poplar Point located on the left side of the road.
The hard surface, concrete launch site easily allows most larger boats to put into the lake with a hand launch for smaller boats. There is no fee.
Fishermen and women who launch here will find that Piseco Lake is known for its land lock salmon population, large lake trout ("lakers"), and numerous bass in the weed beds around the lake.
There is parking for up to 15 cars and trailers.
Motorboats, canoes, kayaks, and SUPs can all launch here.
