Eagle Nest ~ A Family Tradition
Eagle Nest is a perfect place for gatherings and reunions because there is truly something for everyone. There are easy and harder walks and hikes; mountain biking trails and roads; as well as a chain of three of the most pristine lakes in the Adirondacks, freshly spring fed and beautifully clean.
The property rental includes the Main Lodge & Guest Cottage (50ft apart), Boat house and Dock with Great Hall overlooking the water, Tennis court, as well as the seaplane Hangar & Beach. As far as the grounds, you would have access to 2000 acres of trails, hills, woods and lakes and the former golf course fairways. The beach at the Hangar has a lovely gradual decline into the water which is great for young children, and around the boat house dock is waist-high water. You can boat between the 3 lakes through channels filled with wild life; and when you navigate to Blue Mt. Lake you can head over to the Castle Rock trail for a stunning view of the lakes and mountains all around.
We provide 4 canoes for your use and you can rent additional boats, pontoon boats, kayaks, sailboats, paddle boards etc. from the local livery, delivered right to your dockside! Likewise. the local bike shop will deliver mountain or road bikes to your doorstep. There are local fishing & nature guides, watercolor and yoga classes and local cultural arts events. If that all were not enough, the local Spa will provides wonderful massage therapy services, to soothe aching muscles after the activities of the day!
The stay includes linens (all Egyptian cotton), amenities, plush robes, coffee and ice, as well as the concierge services of Jamie and organizing by Wes (of bonfires, cookouts at the Lean-to etc).
If you choose Eagle Nest for your gathering, I would be happy to provide you a list of contacts in the area and our house Welcome booklet, and to discuss ideas for fun activities that we have done in the past. Some events we have held ourselves include: cowboy cookouts at our own lean-to; Pimm’s Cup intergenerational tennis tournaments in tennis whites; Lobster lunch on the dock; Hoe-downs at the airplane hangar beach with a bonfire, professional dance caller & BBQ; 1920’s evening on a pontoon boat; Games night tournament in the speakeasy; Airplane joy rides at the Hangar on lake Utowana; Midnight swims, and on and on. …Of course, there is also just hanging out on the dock and watching the loon go fishing.
We look forward to helping you plan a magical week!
