Late summer and early fall here in Hamilton County are filled with many cool events and happenings.
The Adirondack Museum boasts two very popular events in September, including the 29th annual Rustic Furniture Fair on Sept. 10 - 11, and the Antiques Show and Sale on Sept. 17 - 18. This is a great opportunity to find some really amazing historic and rustic furniture and collectibles.
The town of Indian Lake also boasts its Adirondack Mountains Antiques Show Sept. 14-18 with dozens of vendors offering some pretty cool stuff every year. Make a weekend of it between Indian Lake and Blue Mt. Lake, where the Adirondack Museum is located. The following week the Great Adirondack Moose Festival comes to Indian Lake as well. Come and help celebrate the growing population of moose in the Adirondacks!
Newcomb comes alive on the weekend of Sept. 16 - 18 with the annual Teddy Roosevelt Weekend. It's a celebration of the connection Roosevelt had with the region, where he became president of the United States following President McKinley's assassination. The celebration includes a full three days of activities and free events that are not to be missed.
The same weekend, Inlet celebrates fall with its Fall Festival. It's a craft and local producers fair with kids activities, raffles, live music, jugglers, and great local food vendors. Admission, parking, and shuttle for this event are all free!
For paddlers, you won't want to miss the Long Lake Long Boat Regatta on Sept. 24. With its war canoes and C4 boats, this event is great for spectators and participants alike. Watch paddlers from all over the Northeast compete for the $5,000 prize.
