The feeling of fall fills the air; the summer is winding down and the cool crisp nights are becoming more noticeable. The end of summer is near, but Hamilton County and the Adirondacks still have lots of things to do and many exciting places to see. September is full of activities you don't want to miss!
Choose your favorite location and spend the day cheering on the paddlers in the 90-miler Canoe Classic race. Participants will pass by Inlet, Blue Mountain Lake and Long Lake as they travel the challenging canoe route from Old Forge to Saranac Lake. Take a Hike with a NYS licensed guide. Tours originate in Long Lake and head off to Black Pond & Bridge Brook Pond or Indian Pass. Watch or join the One Square Mile of Hope on Fourth Lake in Inlet as participants attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the "largest raft of canoes and kayaks" on a lake while raising support for breast cancer research and awareness.
