ADK Volunteer Project: Bog Bridge Replacement

Adirondack Mountain Club Volunteer Project: Bog Bridge Replacement

The Bog Bridge Replacement volunteer project is a 5-day long cooperative trail work opportunity hosted by the Adirondack Mountain Club for anyone 14 years or older. No prior experience is necessary! During the program, the group will replace bog bridging on a NPT section in the Blue Mountain Wild Forest. While close to the trailhead, this project will require hauling lumber, dismantling old bridges, and constructing new bridges. The crew will be camping on the NPT for the duration of the project. This program is great for anyone who loves trails in the Adirondacks and wants to give back to them. The Adirondack Mountain Club's crew leaders will instruct all participants on the safe and efficient use of the tools and the process to build sustainable trail infrastructure in backcountry settings. Come prepared to work hard, get your hands dirty, and have fun!
