ADK Volunteer Project: Rock Lake to Mud Lake Clearing

Adirondack Mountain Club Volunteer Project: Rock Lake to Mud Lake Clearing

The Rock Lake to Mud Lake Clearing volunteer project is a 5-day long cooperative trail work opportunity hosted by the Adirondack Mountain Club for anyone 14 years or older. No prior experience is necessary! During the program, the group will clear overgrown brush, blow down, and drainages between Rock Lake and Mud Lake on the Northville-Placid Trail in the Silver Lake Wilderness. The crew will camp in the Silver Lake Wilderness during the project. On the first and last days of the project, participants should expect to hike approximately 7 miles, and one to three miles the other days. This program is great for anyone who loves trails in the Adirondacks and wants to give back to them. The Adirondack Mountain Club's crew leaders will instruct all participants on the safe and efficient use of the tools and the process to build sustainable trail infrastructure in backcountry settings. Come prepared to work hard, get your hands dirty, and have fun!
