Puffer Pond

Puffer Pond

Puffer Pond is one of the Siamese Ponds, so named because they are all connected.

Kings Flow trailhead is at the end of Big Brook Road.

From the intersection of Route 28 and Route 30 follow Route 30 toward Speculator. Continue for 0.5 mile, turn left on Big Brook Road, and follow it for 8 miles to its end at the Chimney Mountain trailhead. Follow the signs for Chimney Mountain — Big Brook Road can be a bit confusing to first time visitors.

Pay the parking fee and hike the 2.1-mile trail to the shore of Puffer Pond.

Insider Tips

  • There are two nice lean-tos on the north shore of the Puffer Pond for an extended time out.
  • Fishing is excellent from shore near the lean-tos.
  • The cooler waters on the northeast end near the inlet of the pond tends to be the prime location.
