Explore the southern Adirondacks by water and spend time fishing to see if you can catch the next state record!

Getting there

From the intersection of Route 28 and Route 30, follow Route 28 through Raquette Lake and locate the state boat launch on the right.

Fishing

Along Seventh Lake there are a ton of primitive campsites where you can practice shore fishing. You also have options along Route 28 and at the state boat launch site. The water is quite shallow in the area of the boat launch so you can get out much further as needed.

Boat fishing is where it's at. This is the best form of fishing for Seventh Lake. Use the concrete state boat launch to access with canoe, kayak, or motor boat. Locate Goff Island on the southern end of the lake and you should have decent luck with trout and salmon. Trolling for salmon and lake trout is also a good practice.

Fish species: Lake trout, landlocked salmon, brown trout, bull head, rainbow trout

Special regulations: Always follow state fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional NYSDEC office.
