This is an easy ride that passes Upper and Lower ponds, with a final destination of Sucker Brook Bay on Raquette Lake. There is a intermediate to expert spur trail off the main trail that takes you back to Brown Tract Road. There is also an unimproved road and trail around Lower Pond.
Access to this trail from Raquette Lake is via the Antlers Road to the Browns Tract Road. The brook is a great place to bird watch as many species of boreal bird are often seen and heard here.
Location: Park on Uncas Road, across from the Browns Tract Pond beach access. Look for the dirt road. This is the old railroad.
Distance: It's an 8.5 mile round trip. The loop around Lower Brown Tract Pond adds 2 miles.
The average hiker can do this as a round trip in about 6 hours.
