Getting Ready for Winter

Snowmobile

If you own your own snowmobiles, now is the time to get them registered, insured, and serviced!

Register Your Snowmobile!

A New York state DMV can help get your sleds registered for use on state snowmobile trails, but did you know you can save money on your registration by joining a local snowmobile club?  All you need to do is bring in a voucher from a New York state snowmobile club, and your registration fee drops from $100 to $45. For around $30, you can save $55 on your registration, and your membership fees go toward trail upkeep in the area where you snowmobile! Here in Hamilton County, we have lots of great snowmobile clubs:

  • D.R.A.G. (Speculator)
  • Pleasant Riders (Lake Pleasant)
  • Algonquin Sno-Blazers (Wells)
  • Indian Lake Snowarriors (Indian Lake)
  • Inlet Barnstormers (Inlet)
  • Moonlighter Snowmobile Club (Long Lake)

Service Your Snowmobile!

Stop in to one of our great local dealer and repair shops. Whether you are in the market for a new sled, or just need a little annual maintenance on a sled you already own, there is a shop that can help you!

Season Passes

Check out Oak Mountain Ski Center or Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center to get yourself some 2017-18 season passes! They are a great way to save money, especially if you plan on doing a lot of skiing this winter.  Lapland Lake boasts 50 kilometers of groomed and ungroomed trails. Oak Mountain is a fantastic, family friendly mountain located in Speculator, and is now home to a brand new Sunkid Lift on their bunny hill, making it that much easier for beginners to make it to the top of the hill.

Gear up

If you need some maintenance done on your skis , check out Pedals & Petals in Inlet. They can help you get your skis sharpened up for winter, or get you outfitted in a brand new set of cross-country skis.  The ski shop inside the lodge at Lapland Lake also has all of your cross-country ski needs.

Bundle Up

Winter not only means the snow flies, but the temps drop, and quick! If you find yourself in need of a new winter coat, maybe some snowpants or even just a cozy sweater, our local shops will hook you up.
